1. Finish reading Plato's "Allegory of the Cave" if you did not finish reading it in class. If you did not completely understand the text, please watch the two videos to further your understanding.

2. Answer the following questions on a piece of paper labeled:  
"Allegory of the Cave" Questions

    1. Describe the imagery used in the allegory? 

     2. Compare the perspective of the freed prisoners with the cave prisoners.


     3. According to the Allegory, lack of clarity or intellectual confusion can occur in two distinct ways or context. What are they?


     4. According to the allegory, how do cave prisoners get free?  What does this suggest about   intellectual freedom?


     5.  The allegory presupposes that there is a distinction between appearances and reality.  Do you agree?  Why or why not?
