Individual Canto Explanation
When acquiring new information, the best way to ensure one's knowledge of the subject is to teach it to someone else. Therefore, this assignment will give each student the opportunity to "teach" a specific canto to the class.
Each student is responsible for teaching and presenting one canto to the class. For this 50 point assignment you need to become the expert of your assigned canto.
You may choose to do a power point, a verbal lecture, or an activity to summarize and present the canto to the class.
You are also responsible for informally assessing the students' knowledge about what they are learning during your presentation and for formally assessing the students when your presentation is finished. You will collect the student assessments and you will grade them to determine whether the students gained a valuable understanding of the canto you presented or not.
You might be asked to do a follow up presentation the next day if your assessments proved that the students did not understand the canto that you presented.
