Welcome Back from Winter Break! 

Hello English 2 Honors 2017 Students!

Please get out your Winter Break Homework:
1. "Waiting for Godot" Notes for Act 1 and Act 2
2. One Paragraph Summaries for Act 1 and Act 2

Collect Winter Break Homework

Label a piece of paper: 
Winter Break Accountability Assignment

Part 1=
Write the title and author of your current Literature Circle text and write a one paragraph description about what you read over the break (summarize where you are so far in your book and what is happening currently at this point of your reading of the text). 

Part 2=
Answer the following multiple choice quiz questions about "Waiting for Godot" to the best of your ability. Number your paper from 1-10 and just write the correct letter.

Part 3=
Write a one paragraph description that answers the question:
What is "theater of the absurd"? Explain it with references from Waiting for Godot.

Review Albert Camus' 7 Elements of Confronting the Absurd and discuss WFG Writing Assignment.

7 Elements of Confronting the Absurd

Choose three of Albert Camus' elements for confronting the absurd and discuss how they are exemplified in "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett and/or in Godot and the Great Pumpkin     by Forrest D. Poston.  Use specific examples from the play and or the article to illustrate your points.

This writing assignment MUST include a Works Cited Page and you must cite your sources according the the MLA format.
MLA Information

This Essay is Due on Friday January 20, 2017 and it must be turned in via turnitin.com. 

Review the rubric that I will be using to grade your paper.

1. Read your LC text, do your LC tasks and be prepared to present your LC analysis with your group on Friday February 3rd, 2017!

2. Work on your WFG essay that is due via turnitin.com on Friday January 20, 2017.
